In 2016, I was in the recording studio laying down a few very simple songs. After two hours my voice went away.  I could barely speak.  I had really noisy breathing and was incredibly fatigued.  I knew the sound engineer well and asked him to send me the raw audio without any mixing or embellishments.  Once I got the recordings I started to freak out.  It sounded like I had a paralyzed vocal fold.  It was 10:00 PM and I didn’t know what to do except call the ENT and Vocologist/SLP on my voice team.  I sent them the audio and they agreed that there was a huge concern and told me to go into the clinic first thing in the morning and get a scope done.   You can imagine the amount of stress I was feeling as well as the emotional toll.  When I got there, we realized it wasn’t a paralysis (thank goodness) but they didn’t know what was causing it.  Our next theory was a growth under my vocal folds and they recommended I get an Endoscopy.   I went from thinking I had paralysis to now possibly having a tumor.   I went through the procedure and everything came back with a clear bill of health but my voice was not back.  I went back to my ENT and we talked about a specific massage called “Myofascial”. I had never heard of it.  When I did some research I found 4 therapists in my area.   I called and interviewed each one, asked them specific questions on the anatomy of the larynx, the nerves, and functions and only ONE knew the answers.   I immediately scheduled an appointment.   At the first appointment we felt the therapy could take up to 13 weeks potentially.  Well it didn’t take 13 weeks.  It took one session and my voice started to come back!  I continued to see him because the changes I was seeing spoke for themselves.  Over the course of a few weeks I grew an inch and a half, my snoring stopped, I was able to breathe better and wait for it…I was able to STOP all of my acid reflux medications.   This led me down the path of how can I offer these same services to all my clients, singers, and voice users.  After completing the certification program for Vocology through the National Center for Voice and Speech, I then passed all the requirements to attend the certification in Laryngeal Manipulation in Houston Texas.  I am so excited to offer this service to anyone and everyone!   I have personally felt and experienced the difference and I know anyone who tries it will benefit.   Laryngeal Manipulation can be done in my studio or on location!  Contact me now to schedule and appointment and give it a try.

“Previous to my receiving a laryngeal massage from Mindy Pack, my voice had been very strained.  I couldn't practice singing for longer than half an hour before my throat felt fatigued and the notes coming out of me were forced and heavy.  Mindy gave me a massage and afterwards my throat opened up and the notes I sang felt free and clear.  I have renewed vocal dexterity and range that I haven't experienced for almost a year.  Additionally, jaw strain I had been carrying around for years is gone.  My larynx and the whole surrounding area is very relaxed.  I can sing now without feeling undue strain or fatigue.  I feel like I have my voice back, and it is surprising to me that it was the muscles surrounding my singing apparatus that were causing so much interference.  Thank you, Mindy!”

“You seriously just got rid of the jaw tension I have been experiencing for over a year”
~ Danny E.

“I can’t believe I just hit those high notes and how powerful they sounded….Wait….What the heck, how did you do that?”
~ Abbey B.

“My voice was really tired and I’ve had issues with my voice since a surgery I had done. I have had a lot of irritation from the intubation tube. Mindy got in there with the different manipulation techniques. She worked on my neck, my larynx, my jaw and my tongue. After Mindy got done I noticed that my speaking voice improved, it bumped up a couple of steps, I had a reduction of vocal fry, and I had more resonant space! Overall everything felt better, it felt free, it felt more relaxed and I instantly heard a difference in the sound quality of my voice.  It is POWERFUL STUFF!!!!!  Please sign me up for everyday at 2:00 p.m.”
